The ideal candidate will have experience in the intake and oversight of outsourced assets. They should have a background in concept art and game development with an eye for design fundamentals, have exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. As a Concept Outsource Specialist, you will work closely with the Destiny 2 concept art team and provide critique during the creative process. You will collaborate across art disciplines as a key part of the External Development art team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Concept Art Lead to foster healthy working relationships between internal and external teams.
  • Work with Concept Art lead to review concept art and provide feedback and reference, paint-overs, and written guidance, with adherence to Destiny 2 franchise art vision.
  • Prioritize daily intake of concept art, ensuring feedback is provided promptly.
  • Maintain documentation for a backlog of art content.
  • Collaborate with art direction and design teams to generate briefs and ideate compelling thematic content for future releases.
  • Collaborate with internal Art Directors, art discipline leads, and outsource producers to track incoming assets and future work.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • A passion for external development, and desire to collaborate with external studios and freelance artists.
  • Fluency in game art pipelines.
  • Understanding of industry standard 2D/3D art software.
  • Solid foundational understanding of both character and hard surface art, with a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to carry an idea from conceptual sketch phase to production-ready illustration with an understanding of translating these ideas to in-game content
  • Strong understanding of graphic design and industrial design principles, realistic character proportion and anatomy, and advanced understanding of fashion and thematic costume design
  • An online portfolio demonstrating art & design fundamentals.
  • Experience with high-volume and fast-moving development cycles.
  • Practical problem-solving skills.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Shotgrid.
  • Experience with proprietary game engines and tools.
  • Understanding and passion for graphic design and fashion design.
Listed below is this role's base pay range. In other locations that Bungie has approved for remote work, this pay range may be adjusted up to +/- 10% and some roles may be classified as non-exempt (hourly).

This range is determined by an array of factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. Additionally, it is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Bellevue Pay Range
$93,000$118,000 USD
Bungie full-time (non-contract) employees in the U.S. also receive:
  • 20 days of accrued time-off in the form of PTO and sabbatical days, depending on the level of the position
  • 10 paid Floating Days annually, prorated in the first year of employment based on start date
  • 10 paid Bungie-observed holidays annually
  • One hour of Paid Sick Time (PST) for every 30 hours worked

Contract and International FTE employees receive competitive benefits through their relevant contracting agency.
