YOUR ROLE AS A: GROUND HANDLING STAFF

As a Ground Handling Staff, you play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time aircraft turnaround operations. You are responsible for performing ground handling activities for all arrivals, transit movements, and departures within the specified turnaround time during your assigned tour of duty. As an Allstar, you will uphold the highest safety standards, operational excellence, and teamwork to support seamless airport operations.

What You’ll Champion

  • Perform loading and unloading of baggage and cargo at sorting areas, aircraft compartments, and arrival halls in accordance with company requirements.

  • Support aircraft arrival, transit, and departure activities within the prescribed turnaround time.

  • Operate Ground Service Equipment (GSE), both non-motorized and motorized (if qualified), in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

  • Ensure all operational equipment used is serviceable and safe prior to operations.

  • Strictly adhere to SOPs and safety operational procedures at all times.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and immediately report hazards or irregularities.

  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth ground operations.

  • Uphold the Allstar values by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and operational discipline.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks.

  • Able to lift up to 70 lbs. safely and repetitively.

  • Able to bend, kneel, crawl, stoop, climb, and work in confined spaces.

  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Able to work shifting schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays, and overtime when required.

  • Able to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • A strong team player with good communication skills.

  • Knowledgeable in Google Workspace (Google Suites).

  • Able to maintain high confidentiality, tact, and discretion when dealing with people.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related industry/function is an advantage.

  • Professional Driver’s License with Restrictions 2 and 3 is required.

In this role, you’ll build a strong operational foundation within Ground Operations and the broader aviation ecosystem. You will gain hands-on exposure to aircraft turnaround coordination, safety compliance, and ramp operations — critical components of airline performance and reliability.

You will develop valuable expertise in:

  • Aircraft ground handling procedures and safety standards

  • Turnaround time management and on-time performance coordination

  • Ground Service Equipment (GSE) operations and compliance

  • Cross-functional collaboration with flight crew, engineering, dispatch, and airport authorities

These experiences will position you for advancement into senior ramp roles, lead or supervisory positions, load control, dispatch coordination, or other operational pathways within AirAsia’s growing aviation network.
