JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Welder Date: July 1, 2025

Classification: Hourly (Non-Exempt) Reports to: Production Supervisor

Job Summary:
Welders will fabricate components as required for the manufacturing of boilers and other boiler room
equipment. Strives to meet quality standards and is motivated towards continuous skill improvement
(obtaining WPS codes as needed) and increasing knowledge of our product and manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Welding of carbon steel plate under prescribed conditions.
  • Grind and clean surfaces before and after welding as required.
  • Use grinders, stick and mig welders, and other applicable tools to complete work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to complete work correctly.
  • Be knowledgeable of all aspects of the welding department.
  • Complete assigned tasks in said department by the standard time allowed.
  • Follow all safety rules and requirements.
  • Follow all QC procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Capable of working with others (peers, subordinates, and superiors).
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Capable of following verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Capable of extensive amounts of walking.
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, work from ladders or scaffolding or perform duties with reasonable
accommodation.
  • Able to maintain regular and reliable work attendance.
  • Able to read and understand a tape measure.
  • Able to weld using both stick and mig.
  • Proficiency in duo-shield welding, TIG, and/or SAW will provide opportunities for advancement
  • Familiarity with working in a code shop (understands tolerances and other code requirements)
