Role Summary: In this role, you will support a Caterpillar owned company with the design of locomotives. Your designs will be important in successfully producing a quality product on the factory floor. You will grow your technical capabilities through hands-on work, collaboration, and exposure to new technologies, What You’ll Do (Job Duties) Works directly with customers to determine project scopes and timelines, and ensures projects are delivered on time at the highest quality level. Utilize Creo software to create or modify 3D models and engineering drawings for use in manufacturing. Assists engineers in troubleshooting designs and drawings. Maintains engineering release and change documentation. Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers. What You Have (Core Skills) Effective Communications: Communicates with impact by tailoring messages to diverse audiences, demonstrating empathy and assertiveness, providing coaching and feedback to others, influencing through appropriate persuasion, and maintaining clarity and focus across all levels of the organization. Computer-Aided Design and Engineering: Applies proficiency in computer-aided design and engineering tools to create, analyze, and optimize technical designs with accuracy and efficiency. Initiative: Demonstrates a proactive approach by identifying opportunities, taking ownership of tasks, and driving solutions with minimal supervision. Top Candidates Will Also Have   A mechanical background in locomotives or automotives. Practical experience utilizing software such as NX, Creo, and SolidWorks. Familiarity with reading blueprints. Strong communication skills. Additional Details Work location: Rapid City, SD – Caterpillar Engineering Design Center. Domestic relocation assistance IS NOT available for this role.
