<p></p><p><i>This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in India</i></p><p></p><p>The Microsoft Purview Consultant – Subject Matter Expert (SME) is a senior, client‑facing consultant who leads organizations through the design, deployment, and operationalization of Microsoft Purview to enable trusted data, reduced risk, and sustainable compliance. Acting as both strategic advisor and delivery lead, this role partners closely with client executives, compliance leaders, security teams, and data stakeholders to transform fragmented governance and protection efforts into a cohesive, business‑aligned data governance program.</p><p>The SME brings deep expertise across Microsoft Purview data governance, information protection, and compliance capabilities, translating regulatory obligations and business priorities into practical, scalable solutions. The consultant owns client success end‑to‑end—shaping vision, guiding implementation, driving adoption, and ensuring long‑term value realization.</p><p></p><p><b>How you’ll make an impact</b></p><p></p><p>Trusted Advisory & Executive Engagement :</p><ul><li><p>Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders across Security, Compliance, Legal, IT, and Data leadership, providing clear guidance on how Microsoft Purview supports governance, regulatory needs, and business enablement.</p></li><li><p>Lead client workshops, discovery sessions, and roadmap discussions to assess governance maturity, clarify risk posture, and define realistic, outcome‑driven Purview strategies.</p></li><li><p>Translate complex compliance and governance concepts into executive‑level narratives tied to measurable outcomes such as reduced risk, audit readiness, and improved data confidence.</p></li></ul><p>Solution Architecture & Delivery Leadership</p><ul><li><p>Own the end‑to‑end design and delivery of Microsoft Purview solutions across Microsoft 365, Azure, SaaS, and hybrid data environments, ensuring alignment to client objectives and technical realities.</p></li><li><p>Architect and implement data discovery, scanning, cataloging, lineage, and classification capabilities to provide clients with a defensible understanding of their data estate.</p></li><li><p>Define and configure collections, role‑based governance models, and access patterns that support federated ownership while maintaining enterprise control.</p></li></ul><p>Information Protection, Risk & Compliance Enablement</p><ul><li><p>Design and implement risk‑based sensitivity labeling, encryption, retention, and DLP strategies that protect sensitive data without creating unnecessary friction for users.</p></li><li><p>Lead implementation of key Microsoft Purview compliance features, including DLP, Insider Risk Management, and compliance reporting, aligned to client regulatory and audit requirements.</p></li><li><p>Support clients through audit preparation, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations, ensuring Purview controls and reporting are defensible and well‑documented.</p></li></ul><p>Adoption, Operating Model & Knowledge Transfer</p><ul><li><p>Develop operating models, governance playbooks, and standards that enable clients to sustain Purview beyond initial deployment.</p></li><li><p>Coach and upskill client IT, security, compliance, and data owner teams, ensuring Purview capabilities are understood, adopted, and embedded into day‑to‑day operations.</p></li><li><p>Guide clients through phased adoption and optimization, helping them evolve from initial visibility toward mature, automated governance.</p></li></ul><p>Continuous Improvement & Value Realization</p><ul><li><p>Advise clients on ongoing Purview enhancements, platform updates, and optimization opportunities as business needs and regulatory landscapes evolve.</p></li><li><p>Help clients measure and communicate value realization, including improvements in visibility, compliance efficiency, and risk reduction</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we’re lineage)</p></li><li><p>Information Protection & Sensitivity Labels</p></li><li><p>Data Loss Prevention (DLP)</p></li><li><p>Insider Risk and compliance tooling</p></li></ul></li><li><p>Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, identity, and hybrid architectures as they relate to governance and security.</p></li><li><p>Consulting & Client Leadership Skills</p><ul><li><p>Proven experience delivering client‑facing consulting engagements, including discovery, design, implementation, and executive reporting.</p></li><li><p>Ability to balance compliance rigor with business
