Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care (FNP)

Other Jobs To Apply

No other job posts for this day.

We are seeking a Full-time Nurse Practitioner (Family / Primary Care) to help launch our NP-led primary care clinic in the Wichita area. This role is ideal for the NP who enjoys practicing at the top of his/her license and is energized by being part of a growing practice.

In the early stages, this role will combine direct patient care with light participation in practice ramp-up activities – working alongside our operations team to help shape workflows, patient experience, and care delivery as the clinic grows. Over time, there is a clear pathway for increased clinical leadership and potential future clinic ownership if interested.

Visit our website at:

What You’ll Do: Clinical Care

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered primary care for adults, adolescents, and children
  • Evaluate and manage acute illnesses, minor injuries, and common chronic conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostics; prescribe and manage medications
  • Perform appropriate in-scope procedures and arrange follow-up care
  • Conduct Annual Wellness Visits (AWVs) in person and via telehealth
  • Participate in telehealth visits and virtual triage to expand access to care

What You’ll Do: Practice Launch & Growth

  • Partner with Joy’s operations and clinical leadership during clinic ramp-up
  • Provide feedback on workflows, patient experience, and care delivery processes
  • Support population health initiatives (AWV outreach, care gaps, CCM/RPM enrollment) as the panel grows
  • Accurately document encounters in the Joy EHR to support billing, quality metrics, and value-based care programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners on care coordination and utilization management

What You Won't Do:

  • Wish you had more time with patients (you’ll have the autonomy to practice medicine the way you want)
  • Spend hours on post-visit paperwork (our AI scribe composes this for your review and sign-off)
  • Worry about scheduling and calling patients back (our medical assistant and front-desk automations will do this for you)
  • Search through HIE data for clinical context as a patient is sitting in the exam room (our system automatically appends patient HIE data into your visit prep)

Who You Are (Required Qualifications)

  • Active, unrestricted KS Nurse Practitioner license
  • National NP certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • 2+ years post-licensure clinical experience in primary care, family medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory settings
  • Experience with EHRs and comfort with documentation and basic coding standards
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-first mindset
  • Ability to meet credentialing and background check requirements

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience performing and/or billing Annual Wellness Visits
  • Prior work in urgent care, ED, hospital medicine, or post-acute settings
  • Familiarity with telehealth and remote patient engagement
  • Interest in quality improvement, population health, or care coordination
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in long-term practice leadership or ownership
