About The Role

The Human Resources Intern at Six Flags Over Georgia plays a vital role in supporting the HR department's daily operations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in recruitment, employee relations, and administrative functions within a fast-paced entertainment environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for helping others, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. As an integral part of the HR team, you will assist with applicant screening, interview coordination, new hire onboarding, and various special projects. This role is designed to develop your professional skills, enhance your understanding of HR processes, and contribute to creating a welcoming and efficient workplace for all team members.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to embody the Six Flags Mantra and adhere to grooming standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Physical and mental capacity to perform primary job duties, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in handling multi-line phones and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive documents and conversations.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
  • Previous theme park or hospitality experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure and maintain objectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Review applications and conduct interviews for various high-volume departments to support staffing needs.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including coordinating local community outreach and scheduling recruitment trips.
  • Greet and assist new team members during interviews and wardrobe appointments, ensuring a positive onboarding experience.
  • Support team member relations by participating in retention initiatives, survey distribution, and guest service programs.
  • Process rehire and new hire documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Proactively communicate with applicants via calls and emails to schedule interviews and provide updates.
  • Maintain organized files for current and past seasonal employees, ensuring easy access and compliance.
  • Assist in conducting new hire orientations, providing necessary information and support to new team members.
  • Assist with inventory management and office supplies to ensure a well-maintained workspace.
  • Maintain a clean and organized office environment, including general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and laundry.
  • Answer multi-line phones, take messages, and transfer calls efficiently and courteously.
  • Monitor safety and cleanliness in the front office area, ensuring a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR management team.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the HR department and overall park operations.
