This role sits within the Microsoft Advertising (MSA) Marketing Strategy, Growth & Operations team and defines how Marketing not only understands impact but also implements measurement systems that connect marketing activities to tangible business outcomes. By leading the formulation of measurement strategies, overseeing the implementation of supporting technology and operations, and ensuring insights are trusted and actionable, this role empowers Marketing to function with clarity, accountability, and influence as a growth engine.<br><br><strong>Success In This Role Requires The Ability To<br><br></strong><ul><li>Define and implement Marketing’s measurement strategy, partnering with leaders across marketing, sales, analytics, product & finance, and transforming ambiguous business questions into clear, outcome-based measurement frameworks that link marketing efforts to growth, revenue, and strategic objectives.</li><li>Design and execute scalable, rigorous measurement systems, converting business goals into actionable metrics, analytical methodologies, and implementation roadmaps across platforms, data pipelines, and reporting layers.</li><li>Establish trust and foster adoption at scale, instituting standards for data quality, governance, and compliance, and leading operational changes to integrate measurement systems seamlessly into marketing workflows.</li><li>Translate complex data signals into executive-ready guidance, elevating storytelling to inform leadership decisions regarding prioritization, optimization, and investment allocation.<br><br></li></ul>Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Drives requirements for design & implementation of advanced measurement methodologies — including attribution models, incrementality testing, mixed media modeling (MMM) to evaluate marketing effectiveness at scale.</li><li>Applies privacy-first measurement approaches, ensuring data governance and compliance standards are embedded across all measurement practices.</li><li>Leverages modern marketing data stacks, analytics platforms, and AI-driven measurement tools to build scalable, future-ready data pipelines and reporting infrastructure.</li><li>Translates complex measurement insights into clear, executive-ready strategic recommendations that directly influence leadership prioritization and investment decisions.</li><li>Leads adoption of new measurement systems and standards across large, cross-functional marketing organizations, driving behavior change and building trust in data-driven decision-making.</li><li>Drives large scale (e.g., features spanning multiple semesters) planning and provides solutions for large, complex projects by seeking to identify key milestones, providing deep subject matter expertise into developing plans, and leading team discussions.</li><li>Tracks deliverables and timeliness. Proactively identifies and resolves blockers, opportunities, and risks to ensure implementation. Orchestrates program deliverables and requirements across senior/executive stakeholders.</li><li>Gathers information on highly complex product scenarios by researching and interviewing people about impacts of potential changes.</li><li>Uses business knowledge and technical expertise to analyze the work of the Marketing team to identify potential future business opportunities.</li><li>Oversees the development and execution of processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improve effectiveness by providing input and giving feedback to others. Ensures compliance of Marketing Measurement products/programs, policies, and across projects.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Required Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience</li><ul><li>OR equivalent experience. <br></li></ul></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years of marketing operations, product management or related experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years of marketing operations, product, or related experience OR equivalent experience.</li><li>7+ years of hands-on experience in marketing measurement, including designing and implementing attribution models, incrementality testing, and/or Media Mix Modeling (MMM) at scale</li><li>7+ years of experience leading change management initiatives, driving adoption of new measurement systems, process improvement, frameworks, or standards across large, cross-functional marketing organizations</li><li>5+ years of experience operating in privacy-first measurement environments, with demonstrated fluency in cookieless measurement approaches, consent frameworks, and advertising data governance</li><li>5+ years of experience working with modern marketing data and AI platforms, including analytics tools, data pipelines, and emerging AI-driven measurement or optimization solutions<br><br></li></ul>#MicrosoftAI #MicrosoftAdvertising<br><br>Marketing Technology IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.<br><br>Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
