This is a unique opportunity to play an integral role in our organization, providing expert advice and guidance on a wide range of legal and regulatory compliance matters. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and who has a passion for mitigating risk and ensuring our organization's adherence to all relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities: As a Permanent Compliance Counsel, you will: 1. Develop, implement, and manage the company's compliance program, ensuring that all activities meet the requirements of state and federal regulations. 2. Provide advice and guidance to management on compliance issues, including data privacy, risk, and insurance matters. 3. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure corporate compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. 4. Conduct regular audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues. 5. Oversee the process for obtaining and renewing regulatory licenses, ensuring that all necessary licenses are current and valid. 6. Provide training and education to staff on compliance-related matters, ensuring a high level of awareness and understanding across the organization. 7. Stay abreast of changes to relevant laws and regulations, and provide timely updates to management. 8. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Risk Management, Internal Audit, Employee Services, etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution. Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Permanent Compliance Counsel position will have: 1. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the legal industry, with a strong focus on compliance. 3. In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations, data privacy laws, risk, and insurance matters. 4. Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs, including policies and procedures. 5. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. 7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and regulatory issues in a clear and concise manner. 8. A high level of integrity and professional ethics. 9.
