Job Description The Compensation Analyst is responsible for the analysis and administration of compensation programs that support the North America (US and Canada) compensation strategy and ensures that compliance, internal equity, and external competitiveness requirements are met. • 100% remote position • Supports job evaluation process by conducting job description evaluations according to established criteria, including: • Managing the analysis of new positions to determine salary and benefits for the role to maintain internal equity across the organization. • Evaluate existing and proposed jobs and classify them according to their levels of responsibility. • Maintain a grading structure based on company methodology. • Administers job description and compensation management system. Ensures new and revised job descriptions adhere to internal structure. Creates and maintains data standards for process requirements, reporting tools for HR users, standard operating procedures, and training manuals. • Recommends efficiencies and modifications to better use existing technology. Partner with HR Systems team for system automation and enhancements. • Participates in external survey submissions and conducts internal ad hoc survey requests, including survey design and results analysis. • Assists and provides support in the annual compensation cycle including market research, creating, and administering merit increase data files, and contributing to the continuous improvement of the compensation process. • Maintains variable compensation programs and coordinates payments with payroll. Works with finance and business partners to ensure accurate accruals for respective client groups. • Develops standard reports, guides, and training materials to support and empower HR and business users to make informed compensation decisions in line with SGS compensation systems, philosophies, • and processes. Provides advice and guidance to leaders, people managers, HR professionals in the interpretation and administration of all compensation programs. • Gathers market intelligence and identifies emerging compensation trends, preparing reports for recommendations based on research. • Conduct regular pay equity reviews and maintenance, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. • Conducts periodic audits and prepares reports to address concerns and changes to legislation, including changes to state/provincial minimum wage requirements. • Develops and maintains detailed documentation of procedures to ensure business continuity. • Works with the team to evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs and processes and continually identify and implement improvements and automations. • Maintains knowledge of market practices and emerging trends in HR with a focus on Compensation programs. Qualifications: Qualifications Education & Experience • University Degree in an appropriate discipline (HR, Business or Finance preferred) or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education • 5+ years of human resources experience, with a focus on compensation and/or benefits and a professional accreditation preferred (CEBS, CHRP) • Strong experience with the job evaluation process Computer Skills Required: • Advanced level user of Excel (i.e., pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas, macros) • Knowledgeable of HRIS and compensation related tools/software (Intermediate) Preferred: • arenaflex Power Platforms (Power BI, Power Automate) Intermediate Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities • Familiar with survey methodology and point-factor job evaluation systems. • Good working knowledge of broad-based compensation topics such as market pricing, salary structure design and development, job evaluation, and analysis. • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition. • Ability to listen and share information clearly and concisely to maintain an environment in which people communicate honestly and openly • Exceptional customer service skills with a team player mindset and accompanying interpersonal and • communication skills to work with both internal and external stakeholders, at varying levels. • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail. • Detail-oriented and organized, strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude required, and understanding of how an organization function. • Ability to deal with complex, sensitive, and personal issues while maintaining confidentiality.
