General Purpose

The primary purpose of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position is to provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with each resident’s assessment, care plan, and facility policies, under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Report all changes in residents’ conditions to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Supervisor promptly

  • Accurately document care provided in flow sheets, charts, and notes

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, and toileting

  • Measure and record vital signs (TPRs) and weights as instructed

  • Monitor residents routinely to ensure comfort, safety, and personal care needs are met

  • Record food and fluid intake and report changes in appetite

  • Participate in shift reports and communication hand-offs

  • Assist with restorative and rehabilitative care as directed

  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and resident-centered environment

  • Cooperate with nursing staff and other departments to ensure quality care

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Certificates / Licenses

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of California

  • CPR certification preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Strong communication and observation skills

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Skilled nursing and long-term care setting

  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and assisting residents

  • Ability to lift and move residents with assistance and proper equipment

  • Ability to work day shift hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
